Model and Simulation of Direct Torque Control for High-Speed Motorized Spindle

This paper utilizes high performance direct torque control technology to drive motorized spindle so as to enhance the dynamic speed and to realize the wide regulating speed bound.Based on the principles of motorized spindle and direct torque control,basic blocks provided by MATLAB/Simulink Toolbox are used to build various subsystems,masks the subsystems to the blocks.Connecting the blocks to compose an integrated direct torque control for high-speed motorized spindle system model,and then simulate the system model.In this paper,the configuration of motorized spindle is studied and the procedure of direct torque control for motorized spindle is investigated,and the system principle sketch map is drawn.Simulation studies are done for the speed control of motorized spindle motor by Direct Torque Control method using the software tool MATLAB/Simulink.Simulation results within a limited range of speed variations show that the control technology of DTC has good characteristics with high precision of speed and torque control.DTC can control the electromagnetic torque and flux directly and independently,thus enabling the motorized spindle to achieve an excellent dynamic performance.Research results demonstrate that DTC can be considered as a very promising alternative for high-speed motorized spindle drives systems.
