Optical absorption spectrum of Ni2+ ions in ammonium dihydrogen phosphate

Results of optical absorption studies on Ni2+ ions doped in ammonium dihydrogen phosphate single crystal at RT are reported. The spectrum shows characteristic features of Ni2+ ions in octahedral crystalline fields. From a detailed analysis of the spectrum, the crystal field parameters B, C and Dq are evaluated.
