Electronic toll collection system that provide multi-lane service

An ETCS(Electronic Toll Collection System) for providing multi-lane service is provided to supply ETCS service to plural lanes through an LSE(Lane Selection Equipment) for dividing a lane where each vehicle enters, by applying RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technique to the existing ETCS. In an ETCS providing multi-lane service, plural OBUs(On Board Units)(10) are installed in each vehicle to memorize vehicle information and provided with a smart card registered with personal information and a DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) wireless communication unit. An RFCU(Radio Frequency Control Unit)(20) receives the vehicle and personal information of the OBUs through an antenna and transmits a charge value. An SAM(Secure Application Module)(30) initializes and confirms the card during a toll collection process. Plural UDEs(User Display Equipments)(40) display the toll collection result to a user. Plural AOVDs(Advanced Optical Vehicle Detector)(50) classify the kinds of the vehicles by measuring the width and length of the passing vehicles. Plural VCPEs(Violation Car Photograph Equipments)(60) determine the violating vehicle if the kind of the vehicle classified by the AOVD is different from the kind of the vehicle of the OBU obtained through DSRC communication, and take a picture of the violating vehicle. Plural RFID tags(70) are installed in each vehicle to memorize the vehicle information. Plural LSEs(80) have RFID readers receiving the vehicle information from the RFID tag and transmit the received vehicle and lane information. A CCU(Central Control Unit)(90) connected with each component judges the vehicle and lane information and illegal passage, executes a toll collection process in case of the normal vehicle, and takes a photograph of the vehicle in case of an illegally passing vehicle and informs the user of the vehicle.
