NITRIC OXIDE LINE PARAMETERS: REVIEW OF 1996 HITRAN UPDATE AND NEW RESULTS

Abstract The 1996 HITRAN database incorporated an extensive update of NO line parameters in the 5.3 μm region. Hyperfine lines associated with the 0–1 band up to J=46.5 were included and accuracies were greatly improved. Better air- and self-broadened widths were also included for a number of the infrared entries but erroneously omitted for others. These changes, as well as the complete NO database, are critically reviewed. Recent results not yet incorporated into the HITRAN database are described along with ongoing studies and needs for corrections and future improvements.
