GPRS Wireless Transmission Based Portable Surveillance System

Considering the convenience and practicability,a portable surveillance system based on the embed pc is presented. In order to reduce the volume of the system an ordinary USB camera is used to catch images instead of the CCD camera and image card. Real-time supervision is performed using an effective algorithm that can get the information whether there are objects in the acquired image. When the objects occur, the image will be sent away through GPRS module. Experiment results showed that the system possesses the advantages of real-time standard, high precision and practicability.
