An inter car jumper cable(HVJL) usually connects the terminations on both cars has been used at EMU or High speed train operated in AC 25㎸ line. And the life (between 7 and 12years) is decided depending on various parameters like the real loads, movements between cars & environmental circumstances. However it was too difficult to predict a potential longevity (Estimating expected lifetimes) accurately on initial introduction step in Korea even through FEA was performed by supplier. Therefore, this paper provides a maintenance manual of HVJL and propose prevention method of unexpected accidents (broken or burning) in advance by carrying on regular checks of the resistance measurements during its service life.
