Distribution Fault Diagnosis Method Based on Comprehensive Fault Factor

The fault diagnosis of distribution network is the necessary step to restore power supply. By utilizing fault recorded wave data of electrical information, this article proposes a definition of comprehensive differential current of power line and a fault diagnosis method based on comprehensive fault factor for distribution systems. The short-time Fourier transform is used to obtain the harmonic amplitude to further get the fault factor, which is divided into the lateral fault factor and the longitudinal fault factor, so that the fault line can be selected laterally and the fault segment be located longitudinally separately. The simulation results of the 15-node industrial distribution network show that the proposed method is effective and the fault can be accurately diagnosed under different fault locations and different grounding resistances, including single fault and multiple faults condition.
