A 159-W X-Band Spatially Combined Solid-State Amplifier

A broad-band spatial power-combining system and its simplification model based on main mode characteristic in radial waveguide was presented.The results show the passive combining system has a minimum combining efficiency of 88 percent from 9GHz to 14GHz,and the active one with 16 MMICs has an average combining efficiency of 83% and produces up to 159-W output power within the band of interest(11.9GHz～12.3GHz).
