Recognition of Static Human Gesture Based on Radiant-Projection-Transform and Fourier-Transform

An algorithm called Radiant-projection-transform (RPT) is introduced to recognize static gesture images in this paper, which devotes a new method for gesture recognition. Through a series of mathematic transform such as normalization and Fourier-transform, the improved RPT features have many excellent characteristics such as translation invariance, scaling invariance and rotation invariance. These features can be used to do study in pattern recognition. We recognize static human gestures with this method in the paper. In the end, some experimentation show that it does good job in the gesture bank.
