Cyclostationarity-based parameter estimation in multiuser communications systems

This paper deals with the estimation of the parameters required in practical implementation of several multiuser detectors. Specifically, a blind algorithm for the estimation of amplitudes, phases, and relative time delays of each user in a multiple-access system is proposed. This algorithm is based on the cyclostationarity features of the received signals and provides estimates of the unknown parameters that are intrinsically immune to the effects of noise and interference. Moreover, it is not based on the usual assumption of Gaussian ambient noise.
