A New Method For The Synthesis And Efficient Coding Of Natural Structured Textures

This paper deals with the synthesis of cell-structured textures, which can be modeled by a primitive repeatedly positioned in the picture plane according to some placement rule. The only restriction introduced to this model is that the primitive must be locally invariant and the placement rule locally regular. Experimental results are presented.
