Multi-objective decision making approach based on entropy weights for reservoir flood control operation

The concept of entropy is applied to improve the optimal alternative searching of reservoir operation combined with fuzzy optimum model.It is found that the formula of entropy weight used in most cases is not suitable under some certain conditions.An improved formula based on the theory of information entropy is proposed.The objective weights in this formula can be derived from the data included in alternatives.The biases of decision-makers are taken into account by the linear combination of the multi-objective weights.As a result,the problem of multi-objective weight allocation can be solved reasonably.A case study is given to the Huanren Reservoir located in Hun River Basin in the Northeast China.It is shown that the proposed optimal selection model based on information entropy is applicable for decision making of reservoir flood control operation.
