Review of incompressible fluid flow computations using the vorticity-velocity formulation

Abstract An overview of the development of the vorticity-velocity formulation to the numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equations is presented. The advantages and disadvantages to such a formulation are discussed, as well as the various numerical algorithms used in solving these governing differential equations.
