Centrifuges Rotor Adaptive Control Using Support Stiffness Change and Decreased Vibration Force Technique

Abstract This paper presents a new control approach which can restrain vibration of centrifuges. In the new scheme, changing support stiffness and self-tuning feedforward PID control of decreased vibration force are combined effectively. Some advanced techniques, such as adaptive model modification for unstable region, two-level computer control, curve tracking, etc., are used to make the centrifuges system run in minimum vibration state. A horizontal centrifugal experiment is used to test the new control method. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
