Structure and approximations of the chapman-enskog expansion for the linearized grad equations

Abstract A detailed structure of the Chapman-Enskog expansion for the linearized Grad moment equations is determined. A method of partial summing of the Chapman-Enskog series is introduced, and is used to remove short-wave instability of the Burnett approximations.
