Developing passenger vehicle cool-down performance is very important in terms of passenger thermal comfort. The performance is affected by several components like Air-conditioning system itself, engine room and environmental thermal conditions. With these reasons it is very difficult to develop a satisfactory performance after the package layout and components of the system are fixed. Therefore we need enough information at very early design stage to assure the system would supply sufficient performance. In this study we developed a robust numerical method to estimate vehicle cool-down performance. Full air-conditioning system was simulated by a commercial 1D thermal analysis code, Flowmaster2 and heat flux through the car structure was estimated by CFD simulation and 3D heat transfer program Theseus-FE. Finally, the study describes the possibility of numerical approach of passenger thermal comfort briefly.
