Typologies of Hybrids: A Systematic Literature Review

The literature on hybrid governance forms have been studied from different theoretical perspectives and has grown extensively in last few decades. Hybrid governance forms present a broad array of collaborative relationships, such as joint ventures, strategic alliances, buyer-supplier agreements, networks, trade associations and consortia. The aim of this paper is to review the existing typologies of hybrid forms, to critically assess their dimensions and underlying assumptions, and to propose how insights from different perspectives could be combined in order to build a coherent analytical framework of hybrids. Purpose of this paper has been accomplished through review of relevant literature on hybrid governance forms from different theoretical perspectives.
