Rotational viscosities in ferroelectric liquid crystal SCE9

Abstract From the measurements of the soft mode frequency and the dielectric strength and of the electroclinic effect close to the chiral smectic C - smectic A transition in ferroelectric liquid crystal SCE9 we show that the rotational viscosities associated with the soft mode and the Goldstone mode are equal at Tc , in agreement with symmetry predictions.
