Method and device for selecting high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) system service cell

The invention discloses a method and a device for selecting a high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) system service cell, which avoids the situation that the downlink throughput of a changed service cell is lower than that before the change. The method comprises the following steps: in the process of selecting a service cell for the user equipment, RNC (Radio Network Controller) acquires the downlink signal quality of neighboring cells of user equipment and the uplink signal quality of neighboring cells of the user equipment, which belong to an activating set, and selects a cell in the neighboring cells of the user equipment as the service cell of the user equipment, wherein the selected cell has the downlink signal quality meeting the first threshold requirement and meets any one of the following conditions: a) the cell with the downlink signal quality meeting the first threshold requirement and a cell with the uplink signal quality meeting the second threshold requirement belong to the same base station; and b) the uplink signal quality of the cell with the downlink signal quality meeting the first threshold requirement meets the third threshold requirement. In comparison with the prior art, the method and the device provided by the invention can better improve the throughput of the HSDPA service of the changed service cell.
