As one of primary lightning protection designs, direct lightning protection system has always been the focus in lightning protection research. In nowadays, with the rapidly development of lightning protection technology, direct lightning protection system for grounding stationary object is advanced, especially the launch sites around the world have all established reliable direct lightning protection systems. However, as to a motive object on the ground (e.g. a vehicle), those traditional direct lightning protection systems can seldom exert their curative effect, especially when the vehicle is moving in an open wide environment. Until now, it is hard to use any existed direct lightning protection system on a motive vehicle, which makes the vehicle becomes more vulnerable and easier to undertake a lightning strike. This paper provides a vehicular movable direct lightning protection design for a motive vehicle, on the purpose of making a reference for direct lightning protection measure for those vehicles on the moving condition.
