High-Resolution Near Infrared Observations of Red Horizontal Branch Stars in the Galactic Field

We obtained, for the first time, complete H- (from 1.5 to 1.8 μm) and K-band (from 1.9 to 2.4 μm) spectra of some selected Galactic field red horizontal branch stars. We measured the abundances of some important elements including P, S, K, Si and Ca. We also detected 12 C/13 C ratios from the bandheads present in both H- and K-band.
