Multiple asymptomatic lesions on the lips

An 18-year-old man presented with asymptomatic skin lesions over his lips, which had been present since infancy. Over the years, the lesions had gradually increased in size and in number. There was no family history of similar complaints. Physical examination revealed firm, skin-coloured papules over the patient’s upper and lower lips. The lesions exhibited a tendency to coalesce, especially near the angle of the mouth, and there was also mild atrophy of the skin on the left side near the angle of the mouth (Fig. 1).
