A frequency-domain approximate RLS algorithm for blind equalization of mobile communication channels

A frequency-domain approximate RLS blind equalizer for tracking fast fading channels of mobile communication systems is proposed. The equalizer exhibits an RLS-type convergence behavior while having the same order of magnitude of computational complexity as the LMS-type algorithm's. Convergence and stability analysis of the proposed equalizer is also provided. The performance of the equalizer is demonstrated with the aid of a simulated fast fading mobile radio channel.
