The invention relates to a video control device, a method thereof and a video terminal. The video control device comprises a collection module used for collecting voiceprint information when a video terminal and an opposite terminal are connected, a comparison module used for comparing the voiceprint information with prestored voiceprint information to obtain a comparison result, and a control module used for controlling the video channel of the video terminal according to the comparison result. The video control method comprises the steps of collecting the voiceprint information transmitted by the opposite terminal which is in conversation with the video terminal, comparing the voiceprint information with the prestored voiceprint information to obtain the comparison result, and controlling the video channel of the video terminal according to the comparison result such that the video channel is switched on and switched off according to the connection rule set by a user. According to the video control device, the method thereof and the video terminal, through adding a voiceprint verification function to the video terminal, whether the identity of the opposite terminal is illegal or not is judged through the voiceprint information of a voice conversation before starting video, and the safety of the video conversation is ensured.
