Doubly fed induction generator for wind power generation using synchronous rectifier

This paper presents the possibilities of using switched mode rectification for the doubly fed induction generator system for wind power generation. Doubly fed induction generator requires the frequency converter system for the secondary side excitation. This paper shows that the small capacitance capacitor can reduce the harmonics at ac side, and increase the power factor without PWM control. Avoiding PWM control leads to the lower switching loss.
