Bismuth Borate Glasses for Photonic Applications: A Review

This paper presents that the rare earth ions doped Bismuth Borate glasses possess excellent structural, optical, thermal properties that make it a strong candidate for photonic devices. Several research papers concluded their physical properties and JuddOfelt intensity parameter ( ) , , 6 4 2    . These values used to analyze the emission spectrum of the glass matrix. Ultraviolet to Near Infrared measurements evaluated for the glass samples. CIE 1931 color chromaticity coordinates diagram have been confirms the emission color of the glass. Elastic and bulk properties analyzed by ultrasonic velocity method. Elastic moduli and atomic vibrations determined by the Debye temperature (θD) and it is plays an important role solid state materials. We aim to provide a review of bismuth borate glass materials for light emitting diode and laser sources.
