Many adaptive, or learning, systems have been developed in direct imitation of some concept of a neurological system. Once the system is built, attempts are then made to analyze its behavior and to build suitable mathematical models and techniques. This paper describes a simple mathematical model which applies to most learning systems and shows how it leads directly to the self-organizing binary logical network.
