Compact Textile Wearable Antenna for Security Applications

A compact planar inverted-F antenna on textile felt substrate is proposed in this contribution as wearable sensor to be adopted for security purposes. A very small size of about 2 cm x 2 cm is achieved at 2.4 GHz (Industrial Scientific Medical – ISM - band), with a useful bandwidth of about 8%. Preliminary experimental validations are provided to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed textile antenna for security services in the framework of wearable communications.
