Design and performance of magnetic gears using rare-earth permanent magnets

Magnetic gears can offer many advantages such as improved reliability, overload protection and physical isolation and non-contact transmission. Rare-Earth permanent magnets have been employed in the design of magnetic gears. This paper deals with the use of rare-earth magnets in the design of magnet gears. The paper describes analysis, design of magnetic gears and their performance.
