Exploiting circuit instability to achieve wideband linear amplification

This paper describes an approach to take advantage of circuit instability to achieve wideband linear amplification. Specifically, samples of the input signal are periodically amplified by the exponentially growing natural response of an unstable RC circuit. A NIC-based implementation is described where the resulting gaintimesbandwidth product may exceed the operational amplifier GB product. Experimental results validate the proposed approach
