Measurement and Analysis of Relay Channels in Indoor Environments

In this contribution, the measurement scenario of relay channel is designed in indoor environment based on the measuerment technology of Virtual MIMO, and three kinds of relay links are measured separately by our own real-time channel measurement platform at 2.5GHz. We analyze the characteristics of shadow fading and correlation about relay channel. The percentage error of shallow fading between each hop and five standard distributions is listed, we find that the traditional description method about the shallow fading in non-relay channel is not entirely consistent in relay channel. In addition, the correlation coefficient matrices of different relay links and two hops of the same relay link are obtained. Through the analysis of the correlation coefficient matrix, we find that the correlation between relay channels is stronger and more regular compared with the non-realy channel. The analysis results of the measurement data verified that the virtual method is reasonable. Meantime, our research results of relay characteristics present an important basis for the study of relay channel modeling and spatial layout.
