HASTUS I: A MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING APPROACH TO THE BUS DRIVER SCHEDULING PROBLEM. FROM THE BOOK COMPUTER SCHEDULING OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT

This paper presents a mathematical programming formulation of the bus driver scheduling problem in a transit company. A relaxation of the problem and a solution strategy are described. The implementation and results obtained in Quebec City are briefly overviewed.
