Performance evaluation of two location-based routing protocols in vehicular Ad-Hoc networks

This paper presents a simulation-based performance evaluation of two location-based routing protocols for vehicular ad- hoc networks (VANET). We consider a circular scenario to represent vehicular mobility on a motorway. The performance of Location-Based Routing Algorithm with Cluster-Based Flooding (LORA-CBF) and Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR) are simulated and compared in OPNET, which is used to implement a microscopic traffic model to represent 3 lanes per direction of traffic flow. Finally, the two algorithms are compared in terms of end-to- End Delay (EED), Routing Load, Routing Overhead, Overhead, and Delivery Ratio.
