Laparoscopic nephrectomy with lymphadenectomy for renal cell carcinoma: Initial two cases

A laparoscopic radical nephrectomy with an attendant lymphadenectomy was performed on two patients with stage 1 renal cell carcinoma. Using a laparoscopic procedure through five trocar ports, kidneys bearing early stage renal cell carcinoma could be freed in the abdominal cavity, just as in open surgery. Many patients with early stage renal cell carcinoma, usually found incidentally, could benefit from this less invasive procedure.
