A method, apparatus and computer readable medium to display a two-channel virtual sound based on the listener position.

The method involves generating a two-channel virtual sound from a multi-channel sound, and sensing a listener position with respect to two speakers. A listener position compensation value is generated by calculating output levels and time delays of the two speakers based on the sensed listener position. The output values of the generated two-channel virtual sound are compensated based on the position compensation value. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a speaker system comprising a virtual sound signal processing unit and a sound reception position compensation unit (B) a computer readable medium having executable code to reproduce a virtual sound.
