The Effect of Structure on the Strategic Decision Process.

This paper attempts to provide an orderly description of how an organization's formal structure affects its strategic decision-making process. Literature on structure, the strategic process, and the link between the two is reviewed. Pertinent contributions are then integrated to describe the effect that three dimensions of organization structure have on six characteristics of the strategic decision process. Propositions that emerge from this integration are presented to summarize the Impact of each structural dimension.
