DNA Molecular Markers in Peanut II RGA Marker

Four RGA (resistance gene analog) primer pairs, 9 peanut varieties/lines were used in an attempt to investigate RGAs in peanut. NLRR inv1/inv2 was found to be the only primer pair resulting in PCR product. PCR with this primer pair and 18 peanut varieties/lines showed that only 10 of the peanut accessions produced PCR product, when separated on a 4% polyacrylamide gel and silver stained, yielding 58 bands of different migration distances, among which 56 were polymorphic, with the Lynch shared band similarity index ranging between 0.188~0.986. The 10 peanut accessions fell into 2 categories based on banding pattern. The present study provided basis for in-depth work on peanut RGAs.
