Experimental Research on Characteristics of Fiber-Optic Acoustic Sensor

The designed fiber-optic acoustic sensor is a new type of sensor which is composed of the structure of Y type reflective multimode fiber sensing probe and optic fiber. When the acousto-optic conversion is carrying out, at the same time the parallel filtering for the acoustic signal is carried out by the sensor. It can be used in the surroundings with strong electromagnetic interference. We design the system in experiment and have a test. By testing and analyzing we find that the output waveform is in accord with that of input at 1 kHz frequency. The responsibility is as scheduled, the acoustic sensor is good at low and high signal. But the base response is not equal to the high frequency response. We give the solving measure on the basic of analyzing for design better fiber-optic acoustic sensor.
