Firmware realization of an operating system

Abstract This paper describes firmware and hardware supports necessary for constructing easy-to-understand and high performance operating systems. The basic principles are one-to-one correspondence between logical and physical levels, and vertical migration. Then a computer system which incorporates the necessary supports is described.
