Fingerprint matching using M Band Wavelet transform

This paper illustrates the use of M - band wavelet transform for fingerprint matching. M - band Wavelet transform is applied on small portion of fingerprint image around the core point. Standard database of Bologna University is used to evaluate the performance of M - band wavelet transform. Results of M - band wavelet transform compared with standard two-band wavelet transform. M - band wavelet transform gives better genuine acceptance rate (GAR) at low false acceptance rate (FAR) over the standard two-band wavelet transform.
