A report on developing a checklist to assess company plans focused on improving safety awareness, safe behaviour and safety culture: final report

This report describes the process of developing a checklist to asses company plans focused on improving safety awareness, safe behaviour and safety culture. These plans are part of a programme initiated by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment aiming at improving the safety performance of companies in target sectors. This improvement should be visible in a reduction of incidents and accidents and has to be established by acting on safety awareness, safe behaviour and safety culture. A tool for the assessment of the plans had to be developed. This has been the starting point for the development of a checklist by TNO Work and Employment. This summary gives an overview of the development process, the choices which have been made and the way the report and the checklists can be used.
