Study of mould breakout prediction technique in continuous casting production

This paper introduced a kind of mould breakout prediction method in steel continuous casting production, which is based on mould friction, thermocouple temperature and process parameters. At first authors analyzed characteristics of existing breakout prediction systems, influence factors on breakout, and feasibility that mould friction is used to estimate breakout; and then investigated mould friction online application method; after comparing the temperature characteristics of thermocouple laid in the mould walls at normal and abnormal conditions, founded the horizontal group-thermocouples judge model; finally, established BP neural network and dynamic fuzzy neural network by MATLAB which combined with horizontal group-thermocouples judge model to confirm the breakout phenomenon.
