Statistical characterization of wireless channel between personal area network nodes

With the recent advances in embedded systems and very low power wireless technologies, there has been a great interest in the development and application of a new class of distributed Wireless Personal Area Network for health monitoring. In order for personal area network (PAN) to operate in the desired manner, it is essential to model the communication channel between the mounted sensor node and base node. This paper focuses on the study of indoor body-area channel model for 2.4 GHz on the basis of several measurements in two separate environments for different on body locations.
