Demonstration of a high-efficiency MWPT System for Aerospace

Microwave wireless power transmission (MWPT) has wide application in aerospace, especially at the Space Solar Power Station (SSPS), and Payload Spacecraft Module, and high power weapon, and so on. As a new-style transmission mode, MWPT could solve the limitation of electric power in space application. Based on the theory analysis, the MWPT system design scheme is described. The key technologies of MWPT are analyzed, and the demonstration system has been designed and the corresponding measurement results are provided. The experimental results could agree with the target. The power transmission distance is 11m, the transmitting power is 50W, and the DC power to DC power transmission efficiency is better than 16.5%. The research could lay the foundation of MWPT technique for space application.
