Digital power meter using a non-linear ADC

This paper introduces a method for measuring electrical power digitally by listing a non-linear analogue-to-digital converter (ADC). Two DC signals am generated ; the first is proportional to this peak voltage Vm , and the second to Im cos φ. These two signals are added and subtracted and then applied to a square-law ADC The converted outputs are then subtracted to obtain the power in digital form.
