An alternative approach to assess the reliability worth of network reinforcements

This paper focuses on an alternative approach to the socio-economic analysis of power systems. The approach takes into account that a minimum level of reliability is desired in the Norwegian main grid. This will secure a certain standard of power supply and access to the power market. The approach implies that a strict socio-economic criterion sometimes has to be disregarded.
