SIMULATION OF A MEMRISTOR-SPARK-GAP MODEL FOR LIGHTNING PROTECTION PURPOSES

Original scientific paper Memristors will surely have application in secondary lightning protection as well. This paper proposes a combined over-voltage protecting device consisting of a memristor connected in series with a spark gap. Operation of this combined device has been simulated with circuit simulation software on a model proposed in this paper. The memristor is applied for dissipating lightning surge energy and for breaking the short circuit current.
