An efficient power aware routing protocol for mobile adhoc networks using cluster head

Mobile adhoc networks MANETS are infrastructure less wireless networks. Most of the devices in MANETS are battery operated. Battery life is a precious resource in mobile adhoc networks. Power aware routing protocols work on minimum consumption of battery life of the nodes of the MANET. In this paper a new protocol for power aware routing has been proposed. The proposed algorithm reduces the number of nodes activated in transferring packet from one node to another in MANET. Simulation results confirm that the proposed algorithm performs better as compared to existing algorithms.
