Multimedia offers a lot of advantages in the field of education. With the ability to combine multiple media elements in a package, multimedia courseware has been accepted as a tool that can support teaching and learning process. ‘Kids World’ courseware was developed to assist children within the range of 4–6 years old to learn English Language. The design and development of Kids World is based on the usability design strategies for children. This paper describes a heuristic evaluation on usability of Kids World courseware. The evaluation is based on six categories of usability design strategies for children, namely: General Interaction, Text, Multimedia, Navigation and Search, Graphical User Interface, and Content. A total of five experts are involved in the study. Each individual expert inspects the Kids Worlds courseware interface alone to answer the questionnaire and write all the comments as they go through the interface. The results showed that Kids World courseware satisfy the strategies of usability design for children.
