ANÁLISE DO MERCADO DOS PRINCIPAIS PRODUTOS NÃO-MADEIRÁVEIS DO ESTADO DO PARANÁ

The objective of the present work is to analyze the behavior of the market of the main extractive non timber forest products (NTFP) of Parana State - Brazil. The determination of the main products was determined from the databank of IBGE, which supplies statistics for pinhao (seed of Parana pine), palm heart, knot-of-Parana pine and mate plant (native plant to make tea). The methodology had consisted in the analysis the displacements of the supply and the demand curves through of tendency models. Taxes of growthing of both price and production were considered along the period from 1982 to 2005. Among the products analyzed the pinhao and palm heart presented a considerable displacement in the supply curve for the left side, this fall in the supply can be related to environmental restrictions, shortage of those products in the forest and/or a reduction of the extractive seller number. The knot-of-Parana pine was characterized by a reduction in demand, in this case, the national tendency of substitution of the biomass should be considered by other sources of energy in the sampling period. The mate plant presented an increase of the largest supply than of the demand, this affected, probably, for the growing production of the mate plant in Argentina
